Design Principle of the Day: MOVEMENT
Movement is how your design leads the way.
Itβs the visual rhythm that directs the eye, nudging your viewer from one element to the next with purposeβnot force.
Movement creates flow, hierarchy, and intention, turning a static layout into an experience.
Lines, curves, contrast, repetition, scaleβthey all play a part in guiding attention and shaping the story your design tells.
In design (and in life), direction matters just as much as destination.

Who Even Were They? (Old Spice Edition)
A quick look at how a classic men's grooming brand kept redesigning its way into relevance:
1938 β Detailed linework, traditional composition, and a distinctly heritage aesthetic.
1947 β Cleaner lines, simplified forms, and a more structured layout move the brand toward a refined, mid-century look.
1955 β Further reduction. Becoming more stylized and geometric, signaling a shift toward modernism and stronger shelf clarity.
2004 β A major rebrand. Bold typography, higher contrast, and a graphic interpretation of a ship creates a contemporary, assertive presence.
2010 β A full repositioning. The identity embraces a confident, humorous tone; the ship becomes a secondary asset as the brand leans into strong wordmark use and a more iconic visual voice.
A century of redesignsβsame brand, completely different eras.
